About Us

We are a clothing company that stewards the sport of mountain biking, grows and gives back to its community, and caters to the unique personalities of mountain bike riders.

The Gnarwells trace their roots back to 2019 with a core group of people who were all relatively new to the sport of mountain biking. Derek “Lil Derk” Hendrickson, Mike “Slomez” Gomez, Scott “The Deadman” Deadmond, Jeannine “J9” McCarty, and Dave “No Seat” Spicer. The OGs (Original Gnarwells).

All coming from different riding backgrounds and experience levels, our journey was unforgettable. We shared more laughs than I thought humanely possible. Our friendships were solidified in the middle of the forest on bike seats, at beer gardens, ghost riding the Deadman’s bike through some random field, and watching J9 peel away from all of us with her speed and lack of brains. We sent it, we shredded it, and we biffed it. But most importantly, we were happy.

Mountain biking has given us so much good. It’s an outlet and it provides a sense of adventure. It’s an excuse to get out out there and explore while experiencing what others only see in pictures. Perhaps the greatest gift, mountain biking has given me a community that is unlike no other. Mountain bikers work hard and play hard. We appreciate and tirelessly toil to conserve and preserve our riding environments. We volunteer our time to the local trails. We help others in our community to be better riders, and ultimately better people. We care. We foster the sport. And when we gather, we guzzle suds and crush brews.

We want to get to a point where we can give ferociously to local riding groups who are doing great things with the sport. We want to be the company that people turn to for fundraising. We want to help get as many people hooked on the sport as we can. We want you to be a part of that journey.

With our designs, we want to help you show the world that you are a proud member of the same community . We want to help you remember the bonds you formed with your riding crew. Because mountain biking is bitchin. And so are you.

Gnar-well, and you'll be well.
